As a photographic artist, I create fine art photographs about conventional subject matter using unconventional materials. My work takes a conceptual approach, involving balloon stencils to craft images that reflect the complexities of modern life. Yes, balloon stencils—because who said you can’t mix playfulness with serious social commentary?
I focus on themes of gentrification, relationships, and identity—each captured through the lens of humor, reflection, and sometimes, frustration. Gentrification isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a daily reality, and my work explores how it reshapes communities and personal histories. Relationships—whether with others or ourselves—are messy, beautiful, and complicated, and my pieces aim to honor that complexity. Identity is at the core of it all—how we see ourselves and how others see us in a constantly shifting world.
